About Balu

Balu has the gentlest, most loving character. He’s a little shy with new people, but when he knows you, he wants cuddles and love and will stick to your hip like glue! He’s typical of the pointer breed, eager and curious to explore outdoors, affectionate and loving with people.

He was rescued in February 2023, he needed surgery on broken bones in his leg. He’s recovered with some limited use and has adapted well to the disability. He has no pain symptoms, moves about well, and takes daily joint supplements to maintain bone strength. Balu is playful and social with other dogs and lives happily in the same kennel with a female dog.

Here’s something special about Balu: he loves water! Swimming is not only something he enjoys but also helps maintain his muscle strength. An adopter with access to safe swimming spots would be ideal for him.

Balu will need some support to learn about the world outside the shelter routine, but with patience and consistency, this loyal boy will blossom into the devoted companion he’s meant to be.
