Al is a gentle soul who absolutely melts for human affection. This sweet boy loves nothing more than cuddles and attention from his people, and he’ll reward your kindness with loyalty and friendship.

While Al is wonderful with humans, he’s happiest as the only dog in the home. He can be protective of his bed and food, so he needs a family who can appreciate him as their one-and-only companion. In return, you’ll get all of Al’s love and attention focused entirely on you.

This good boy walks beautifully on lead and has enjoyed several adventures outside the shelter—traveling calmly in the car, exploring town, visiting cafés, and even attending a dog obedience class. Al responds brilliantly to positive training and rewards, whether that’s a biscuit or a cuddle. He’s proven he can fit into everyday life and is ready to be someone’s faithful companion.

Al‘s Story

Al arrived at our shelter in September 2021 from a home where his elderly owner could no longer provide proper care. He came with a female dog who was pregnant with his puppies—three beautiful pups were born, and the mother and all her babies have since found their forever homes.

Now it’s Al’s turn. After years of waiting patiently, this loyal boy deserves a home where he can finally be the cherished only dog, enjoying all the love and attention he’s been waiting for.
