About Alfred
Alfred is the definition of a calm, gentle companion. This quietly confident senior boy doesn’t demand attention, but he deeply appreciates a good shoulder massage, a tickle under the chin, and the company of people who understand that sometimes the best love is the quiet kind.
This lovely boy walks well on lead, pulling occasionally to sniff and explore at his own leisurely pace. Alfred gets along beautifully with other dogs and has shared his kennel happily with both male and female companions.
Where Alfred truly shines is in his calmness around people of all ages. He’s visited both an old people’s home and an orphanage, remaining serene despite children shouting and running around him. While he tolerated the cuddles from the little ones with grace, he seemed to prefer the elderly residents—perhaps drawn to their soft, slow touch, or maybe just hopeful they’d share a biscuit or two!
Alfred is in good health for his age, though his teeth may need veterinary attention. He’s looking for a peaceful home where he can enjoy his golden years with people who will appreciate his gentle presence.
Alfred‘s Story
Alfred arrived in January 2022 after being found as a stray. His friendly nature made it clear he hadn’t been on the streets long—most likely abandoned simply because of his age.
Despite being let down, Alfred has remained the sweet, trusting soul he’s always been. He’s ready to spend his golden years bringing calm, gentle companionship to someone who will value him for exactly who he is.
