About Barry
Barry is a smart and sensitive boy who needs time to warm up to new people, but once he trusts you, his loving, playful side comes out. This clever dog loves playing with toys and will reward your patience with real affection.
Barry needs to be the only dog in the home—he struggles to socialize with other dogs at the shelter and would do much better with all your attention on him. What he lacks in dog-friendliness, he makes up for with his intelligence and willingness to learn.
This bright boy has had some good experiences outside the shelter. He walked by a busy school with lots of people, children, and traffic—he was nervous but handled it well and kept sitting down to watch the children. At an agility class, Barry had a great time and picked up the exercises quickly.
With gentle encouragement, Barry will learn to settle into family life. He needs patient owners who understand that shy dogs often become the most loyal companions once they feel safe.
Barry‘s Story
Barry arrived at the shelter in early 2022 as a tiny puppy, just three months old, after being rescued from a difficult start to life.
Could you be the one to give Barry the patient, only-dog home where he can become the loving companion he’s meant to be?
