About Dexter

Dexter is a friendly boy who loves all people. He adores cuddling up and getting a good back scratch. This affectionate dog walks well on leash and is confident exploring new environments. He’s even been on a beach walk and to a café, where he was very interested in the cakes!

Here’s what you need to know: Dexter isn’t comfortable with other dogs. He finds close greetings difficult and will growl when dogs get too near. He can walk in groups where all dogs are controlled on leads, but he’ll react if off-leash dogs approach him. Since Dexter was living on a chain, he probably never learned to interact properly with other dogs.

What Dexter needs is a home where he can be the only dog, with people who will give him plenty of affection, time outside in a garden, and the chance to cuddle up together. For someone looking for a devoted, people-focused companion, Dexter is perfect.

Dexter‘s Story

Dexter arrived at the shelter in July 2025 after his owner died. Despite this difficult change, he’s remained the sweet, affectionate boy he’s always been.
