About Mailo
Mailo is an interesting character who needs extra patience and support, and keeps getting overlooked because he’s nervous meeting new people. He’ll avoid you, back away, and doesn’t enjoy cuddles or touching. He’s not aggressive, just extremely fearful. He’s a run and hide kind of guy.
But here’s what makes Mailo worth the effort: he’ll allow you to put on his leash and enjoys walking. He’ll let you examine him at the vets, give flea treatment, and handle necessary care without any aggression. He travels fine in a car crate, wears a harness, and walks around town. Recently he went on a big group walk and managed well with lots of strange people and dogs in a new environment.
We believe Mailo just needs regular practice and a consistent routine with people, and he’ll adapt to become a rewarding rescue. He’s social with other dogs, so a home with another confident, friendly dog could help, though it’s not essential. What he really needs is a calm, relaxed home without children. Somewhere the energy won’t frighten him and he can develop at his own pace.
Mailo will do everything, he’s just fearful to start.
Mailo‘s Story
We don’t know much about Mailo’s past, but what we do know is that he deserves a patient home where he can finally learn that people are safe and life can be peaceful.
Could you be the one to give Mailo the calm, understanding home where he can slowly blossom into the companion he’s meant to be?
