About Vanilla
Vanilla is a super sweet little boy who absolutely loves cuddles. This gentle soul always looks to his person for reassurances, creating that wonderful bond where he trusts you completely. When you stop during walks, he just sits down and waits. If he gets nervous with new experiences, he looks up to you for a reassuring touch.
Vanilla walks well on leash and has been on several walks around town, showing he’s good in new environments. He travels nice and calm in the car in a transport crate. He’s social with other dogs, lives in the same kennel with a female, and loves playing in the park. We think he’ll make a wonderful family dog, including with children.
There’s something adopters should know: Vanilla has an unusual way of walking with his back legs. He has been examined by vets and a specialist orthopaedic vet. The good news is there’s nothing requiring surgery or treatment. He shows no stiffness, no difficulty getting up, and loves running and playing in the park. The doctors believe Vanilla will always walk this way, possibly a neurological issue, but since he behaves normally, it’s just an abnormality to live with. Further details can be provided on application.
He’s still very puppy-like and if he feels a bit of anxiety or over-excitement, he will pee! This should improve as he matures and settles into a home.
